Le Muse Monet Marmottan et les Muses royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique ont conclu un accord de partenariat exceptionnel visant valoriser leurs collections rciproques au travers d'expositions temporaires qui clairent chaque fois un aspect particulier de celles-ci. L'exposition Rubens, Van Dyck, Jordaens et les autres. Chefs-d'uvre de la peinture flamande baroque des Muses royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique en constitue le premier volet. L'exposition propose une slection de quarante et un tableaux des anciens Pays-Bas mridionaux du Sicle d'Or qui regroupe tous les grands genres, de la peinture d'histoire la nature morte, en passant par le portrait, la scne de genre et le paysage dans lesquels les artistes du Nord excellaient. Les uvres ont t choisies la fois pour leur reprsentativit et leur haute qualit. Certaines sont des acquisitions rcentes ou font le voyage Paris pour la premire fois. L'exposition est accompagne d'un catalogue richement illustr qui comprend, outre les notices dtailles de chaque uvre crites par les conservateurs des Muses royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique, une introduction sur la formation de la collection et un essai original sur l'engouement du public franais, ds le XVIIe sicle, pour la peinture des anciens Pays-Bas mridionaux, qui fit ds lors l'objet d'changes commerciaux intenses entre Anvers, Amsterdam, Bruxelles et Paris.
